GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — A water pipe break closed Martin Elementary in Green Bay on Friday.
Lori Blakeslee, Director of Communications and Public Relations at the Green Bay Area Public School District, said Friday the water pipe break happened in the new addition of the school.
The break flooded several classrooms and there was no running water Friday at the school.
Pictures shared by the district show the water soaking learning areas and items in classrooms.
Blakeslee says the district intends for the school to be open on Tuesday (Monday is Labor Day). The school district doesn't know the cause of the break as of yet.
At this time the school district is still assessing the damage, so it is uncertain what will need to be replaced at this time.
