GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- Protesters standing outside Lambeau had a message for the Washington Redskins before Sunday's game.
Around 70 people were showing off handmade signs. They're hoping to raise awareness about the misuse of Washington's team name.
Protesters say the team has the most offensive racial slur in the NFL.
"The goal here is to make people aware," said Harvey Gunderson, a protester outside Lambeau. "Most people haven't been aware of it, haven't thought about it, they don't realize it's harmful. So it's really a pattern of raising awareness and help people understand."
Protesters say they hope this helps in the effort to change Wisconsin School District's names as well. They say there are still 31 schools using an offensive mascot.
