OSHKOSH (NBC 26) -- The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh announced the suspension of classes at all three campuses starting the week of March 16.

This class suspension for Fond du Lac, Fox Cities and Oshkosh campuses comes a week before UWO's spring break. They say these actions are in response to concerns about coronavirus.

"The health and safety of our University communities remain our primary concerns," reads the UWO statement.

Residence halls will remain open, but UWO staff ask students to return to their permanent residences if possible and participate in classes from their home rather than returning to campus.

The University are starting delivery of courses through alternative delivery methods on March 30.

In addition, the University says sponsored events held on campus are officially canceled along with all UWO-sponsored domestic and international travel.
