MENASHA, Wis. — The U.S. Venture Open's 36th annual event to end poverty in Wisconsin is underway in Menasha. The Venture Open is the nation's largest single-day charitable event aimed at ending poverty.
Funds from the event are held within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation, and the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, with grants made to collaborating non-profit organizations across Northeast Wisconsin. Last year, the U.S. Venture Open granted $8.38 million to 235 organizations collaborating to end poverty.
U.S. Venture Open had planned to welcome Academy Award-winning actress, United Nations Messenger of Peace, and philanthropist Charlize Theron as this year's guest of honor. But, due to concerns regarding COVID-19, Charlize Theron will not be in attendance at today’s event. The event will also not be holding the reception at Van Abel’s of Hollandtown as previously planned.
