TOWN OF NIAGARA (NBC 26) — Two people are seriously injured following an explosion at their mobile home Sunday morning, according to the Marinette County sheriff.
Sheriff Jerry Sauve said Marinette County Dispatch received a call at 8:50 a.m. reporting a "large explosion" at a mobile home on Payette Road and Bombers Road in the Town of Niagara.
Sauve said a man and woman from the Milwaukee area were inside the mobile home at the time of the explosion. He said they both suffered serious injuries, including severe burns. The victims were transported to the hospital for treatment.
First responders spoke to the man, who said he tried to light the propane furnace when it went out.
The mobile home is a total loss and the garage was severely damaged, Sauve said.
The investigation is ongoing. In a media release, Sauve said they don't suspect foul play.
