GREEN BAY, Wis. (NBC 26) — Green Bay Metro Fire was dispatched Sunday to the 900 block of Greenwood Ave for the report of a house on fire. On arrival, crews spotted smoke and flames coming from the front porch of the two-family home.
The first engine arrived and quickly knocked down the fire on the outside as crews entered the first floor and found fire in the walls and ceiling there. There was no fire found in the second floor unit.
Crews found no further fire extension.
Green Bay Metro Fire credits bystanders for alerting the occupants of the fire and helping them evacuate both units. The two families are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
