MARINETTE COUNTY (NBC 26) — A driver died in a fiery crash Friday, according to the Marinette County Sheriff.
The crash happened around 8:50 p.m. Friday on Hwy 141, about a half-mile south of County "P". The Marinette County Sheriff stated in a news release that the crash involved a tractor towing a grain drill and a dump truck towing a loader.
The Sheriff's statement said the dump truck hit the tractor from behind and then caught fire. The Sheriff said the driver of the dump truck died in the fire. He has been identified as 59-year-old Randy S. Gawryleski of Suamico. The driver of the tractor and his juvenile passenger were not hurt. They were not identified in the news release.
Traffic was detoured for several hours during investigation and clean-up. The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office and the Marinette Medical Examiner.
