GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Three tornadoes have now been confirmed to have touched down in Northeast Wisconsin following major storms Wednesday.
The first confirmed tornado of the year within the NBC 26 viewing area was verified Thursday. According to the National Weather Service, an EF1 tornado touched down in Seymour at around 6:17 p.m. Wednesday. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
Additionally, a second tornado was confirmed in Waushara County. It also touched down Wednesday at around 5:43 p.m. and was also an EF-1.
The National Weather Service also said its storm survey teams confirmed another tornado touched down Wednesday in the town of Silver Cliff in western Marinette County. The NWS said there was extensive damage to trees and other structures in the area.
That tornado has not yet been rated as of early Friday.
Severe weather Wednesday evening knocked out power and toppled over trees across parts of Wisconsin. Thousands of WPS customers were still without power as of Friday morning.
