MANITOWOC COUNTY, Wis. — Three people are facing charges in the death of a 7-year-old boy in Manitowoc County.
According to a news release from the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office, Timothy Hauschultz and Tina McKeever-Hauschultz are being held in the county jail on multiple criminal charges, including child abuse. The third person arrested is Timothy's 15-year-old son, who is also facing multiple charges including First Degree Reckless Homicide.
The Sheriff's Office says on April 20, 2018, Ethan had been performing a punishment ordered by Timothy, which required Ethan to carry a heavy log. The Sheriff's Office says Timothy's 15-year-old son was monitoring Ethan. For more than an hour, the Sheriff's Office says the 15-year-old hit and kicked Ethan "numerous times". The Sheriff's Office says the teen shoved Ethan and stood on him while Ethan was face-down in a puddle.
The Sheriff's Office says the teen buried Ethan in the snow. The Sheriff's Office says Timothy and Tina eventually took Ethan to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office says Ethan's cause of death was hypothermia and other blunt force injuries to the head, chest and abdomen.
The Sheriff's Office says all three suspects were arrested Friday morning. The Sheriff's Office says Tina and Timothy were Ethan's court-appointed guardians.
