Teddy Bear Toss to help local children this holiday season

BONDUEL (NBC 26) — At a Bonduel High School basketball game, the home of the Bears, there are five Bears on the court at any given time.

They run, pass, and score, and at halftime go for a quick hibernation. That typically makes for an empty court. But not Thursday.

At halftime, hundreds of bears made their way onto the court - stuffed animal bears.

"Hopefully we can make an impact," Bonduel senior Megan Zeitler said.

Zeitler organized this teddy bear toss.

"We wanted to bring everyone together and hopefully make a child smile," she said.

That part will come after the game, when all these teddy bears are taken to HSHS St. Vincent Children's Hospital in Green Bay.

"it definitely means a lot for me because you don't know who's in the hospital," Zeitler said. "It's a local hospital, it's only 30 minutes away, so some of these families could have kids in there. You don't know, so you could be helping out a local."

While people may not know exactly who they're helping this holiday season, they do know they're helping someone.

"I hope we can see all these children smile," Zeitler said.
