OUTAGAMIE COUNTY (NBC 26) — A person suspected of trying to rob a local McDonald's has now been arrested.
The attempted robbery happened Tuesday night at the McDonald’s located at W6308 Wally Way in the Village of Greenville. No one was harmed during this incident, authorities say.
According to the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office, a suspect drove up to the drive-through window and threatened an employee with a gun. The Sheriff's Office said this gun was later found to be a CO2-powered BB gun.
An employee of the McDonald's was able to provide a detailed description of the suspect including the suspect having a black eye. The McDonald's store was able to supply video of the suspect vehicle.
Through an investigation, the Sheriff's Office said officers identified Melissa Mann, a 42-year-old woman who resides within a half-mile of the McDonalds, as the suspect. The Sheriff's Office said she was taken into custody without incident.
The Sheriff's Office also said Mann admitted to the attempted robbery. Investigators also found the BB gun after conducting a search warrant on Mann's home, according to the Sheriff's Office.
