DE PERE (NBC 26) -- St. Norbert College Board of Trustees held a meeting Thursday to discuss multiple issues. The meeting started in the afternoon and went on into the evening.
According to information distributed from the board, this meeting is supposed to be a starting point for moving forward in a more positive way.
Recently, Saint Norbert College's President Brian Bruess announced he would be stepping down at the end of the year. Last week, we learned that in an emergency meeting, a majority of faculty voted in favor of re-opening negotiations with Bruess.
Information distributed from the board says they will be discussing feedback they received from students and faculty as well as the decision made by Bruess not to renew his contract.
Students held a silent protest this afternoon but opened up to NBC26.
"We're really hoping that the board of trustees, especially in this meeting, is going to understand what we've asked for, understand that this is something we're asking, so we can improve the quality of this campus and make sure that everyone is better represented on campus,” explained student Michael Houlihan.
One of the big things students are asking for is transparency from the Board of Trustees.
