DE PERE (NBC 26) — Board members for the Unified School District of De Pere have approved a return to in-person learning in January.

Under the plan, students in grades 4K-6 will learn in-person five days a week. They will return to class January 11.

Students in grades 7-12 will move into a blended model. They will learn in-person two days a week. Those students will return to class January 19 and 21.

The board of education made that decision Monday after hearing from dozens of people in the community. At one point, a Zoom call of the meeting had nearly 400 people on it.

All families will still have the option to learn virtually.

Several safety protocols will be in place.
