WISCONSIN (NBC 26) -- The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development is expected to start paying out the additional $600 unemployment compensation in less than two weeks.
According to the DWD website, the state will start making payments the week of April 26th.
The extra 600 dollars weekly benefit will be provided through July 31st to those who are eligible.
The funding is provided through the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation program (FPUC) created under the $2 trillion Coronavirus, Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act or CARES Act.
According to the site, claimants do not need to take action for the additional $600 per week benefit.
