Special Olympics athletes competed Sunday in the Northern State Golf Tournament at the Highland Ridge Golf Club.
65 Special Olympic athletes and partners played in two levels of competition. Many who came out to play Sunday say they're just here to bond with their partners and have some fun.
"Today, I’m golfing with my dad, try and get the gold but we'll see what happens,” said Daniel Schlender.
“Love doing things with my son, first of all, and it’s a chance to see and enjoy the day have fun,” said Terry Schlender.
Sunday’s game was designed to allow athletes to develop their skills and guidance on the golf course.
