HOWARD (NBC 26) -- The Howard-Suamico School District is switching all schools to virtual learning next week due to the rise of COVID-19 within the community.

Superintendent Damian LaCroix stated in an email to parents that all HSSD Schools and 4K programming will transition to the Plan C virtual learning model beginning Wednesday, September 30 and until community health conditions improve.

The school district will maintain its current schedule Monday and Tuesday, September 28 and 29, to allow staff, students, and families time to prepare for the transition. Further updates will be forthcoming from school principals and teachers regarding daily student schedules as the district transitions next week.

School officials will re-evaluate the district's status every two weeks based on criteria under development with the support of the Brown County Health Department and local healthcare leaders.
