School officials: De Pere student threatened other students

DE PERE (NBC 26) — De Pere school officials recently investigated a threat against students, the Unified School District of De Pere told parents Thursday.

In a message to parents, the school district said officials became aware of a credible threat to several Foxview Intermediate School students by another student.

"Immediately upon learning of the threat, we involved the De Pere Police Department, other local agencies, and the Wisconsin Dept. of Justice/Division of School Safety to investigate and take appropriate measures," the message to parents said.

Precautionary contacts were made with the families of the threatened students, the school district said. The district didn't release any more information, citing privacy laws. However, any credible threat made by a student results in that student being removed from the school campus, the school district said.

This incident came to light when someone reported it to school administrators.

The district said anyone who needs to report an incident can report concerns anonymously via Green Bay Area Crimestoppers Tip Line at 920-432-STOP (7867) or online at www.432stop.com.
