APPLETON (NBC 26) — After more than a year of serving contactless meals-to-go, the Salvation Army of Fox Cities is opening its doors again for clients to eat lunch inside its facility starting Monday.
The organization had previously closed its doors to in-person dining at the start of the pandemic last year.
"With the vaccinations that have been distributed to the community, we feel confident that we can maintain safe Covid practices inside the building for our clients,” says Kristal Knudtson, Director of Development and Communications at the Salvation Army Fox Cities.
The organization will allow a limited amount of people in the building at a time. Organizers will require masks to be worn in the building. Workers will clean and sanitize in between rotations. Also, to-go lunches will be available for those who do not feel comfortable eating inside.
The noon meal lunch program is open to anyone, starting Monday through Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
