GREEN BAY (NBC26) -- The Green Bay Salvation Army distributed hundreds of backpacks and school supplies to local children on Monday.
It's part of the 'tools for schools' program to help out local families.
Roughly 600 children received a backpack and all kinds of school supplies ranging from folders to pens and markers.
Leaders of the program hope it can help those children succeed.
"When you think about it, we all need tools to go to work everyday, and those are the tools that our children need to learn," Nan Pahl said.
The Salvation Army said there are still enough supplies to help about 200 more additional children.
