GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Safety Town is once again hosting its week-long summer camp that has run for over 20 years. The camp will take place from June 20 through June 24, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Over the years Safety Camp has taught safety to over 4,000 children in Brown County and surrounding areas.
The camp offers classroom segments, guest presenters, and hands-on experience on the streets that are specially designed for children. The streets include child-sized buildings, roads, pavement markings, traffic signals, and street signs.
Safety Town hosts two different age groups; one being four to six-year-old children and the other being seven to nine-year-old children.
Volunteers will assist in the understanding of the material, administering pre and post-tests as well as assisting in the teaching of important safety topics.
