MANITOWOC (NBC 26) — A local high school received a gift of 20 microscopes for students.
Roncalli High School, part of Roncalli Catholic Schools, was recently gifted 20 student biological compound light microscopes and one teacher trinocular biological compound light microscope.
The microscopes were a private donation from an alumnus, the school says.
The teacher microscope can be used to project onto a screen and has a camera to take photographs. The student microscopes have greater enlargement capabilities than the older microscopes students previously possessed.
The school says the microscopes are used to study cell types in Human Biology (Histology), the cell cycle/mitosis in General Biology (Cell Biology), and general cell structure in prokaryotes and eukaryotes in Freshman and General Biology.
