STURGEON BAY (NBC 26) -- The several community theaters throughout Door County are empty this spring.

The coronavirus has put events on hold and canceled performances.

“Our biggest season is actually the spring season, so when this pandemic came we canceled our biggest show which is our Murder Myster Dinner Theater," Lola DeVillers of the Rogue Theater said.

Through this pandemic, the Rogue Theater has still found ways to evolve and entertain. DeVillers and Stuart Champeau have started putting sketches of The Carol Burnett Show on their YouTube page. They're also hoping to inspire others to join the fun with a funniest video contest. Submissions are now being accepted for a second round in the contest.

“We’re still plugging away and going for it," DeVillers said. "Theater is what drives us and it brings entertainment to everyone else and that’s our passion.”

DeVillers and Champeau do hope to be back on stage soon. They said while there hasn't been a financial hit just yet with canceled performances, there could be impacts as the year progresses.
