FISH CREEK (NBC 26) — The Wisconsin DNR announced that construction to repair roads at Peninsula State Park will begin on August 15 and run through October.
Northeast Asphalt will be setting up staging areas and signage, roadside tree removal will take place in preparation for the road improvements.
Improvements include culvert replacements with asphalt milling, grading, paving and striping. Active construction is anticipated weekly Monday through Thursday through October, roads will be in varying conditions Friday through Sunday through the duration of the construction.
Affected roads include Shore Road from the Fish Creek entrance to the intersection of Bluff Road and Shore Road from the Golf Course/ Ephraim entrance to the intersection of Bluff Road.
Visitors may experience temporary road closures, flagged single-lane traffic and detours through the remainder of 2022.
Camping, biking and other activities at the park are not expected to be impacted, but visitors may experience minor vehicle backups or delays as they navigate the park.
