Police offer reward up to $1,000 in Manitowoc arson case

MANITOWOC (NBC 26) — The Manitowoc Police Department announced a $1,000 reward for information in a suspected arson case.

"The Manitowoc Police Department, in cooperation with CRIMESTOPPERS, is offering up to a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the person, or persons, responsible for a suspected arson in the 3300 block of Mero Street, Manitowoc," police said in a statement Tuesday.

The incident happened around 12:15 a.m. Monday. Police said the fire started inside a detached building on the property of a vacant residence. The fire spread to the vacant residence and to other occupied residences in that area, causing damage.

No suspect is in custody at this time, according to Manitowoc Police.
