OSHKOSH (NBC 26) -- A new relief fund has been created to help nonprofit Oshkosh organizations who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
Oshkosh Area United Way (OAUW) and Oshkosh Area Community Foundation (OACF) have teamed together to create the Oshkosh COVID-19 Relief Fund.
The Oshkosh COVID-19 Relief Fund was created to provide resources for local nonprofit organizations who have been heavily impacted by coronavirus and the economic consequences of the pandemic.
“This fund is designed to give added support to those organizations on the front lines of caring for vulnerable populations and providing a safety net for individuals impacted by the loss of jobs and benefits or the closure of institutions,” said Bill Wyman, President and CEO of the Oshkosh Community Foundation.
“Many nonprofits are not only dealing with an expected increase in caseloads from the coronavirus, they are dealing with disruptions to their own operations and in many cases have had to cancel fundraising events and other development activities,” said Mary Ann Dilling, President and CEO of the Oshkosh Area United Way. “The Oshkosh COVID-19 Response Fund is an important part of making sure we care for our most vulnerable neighbors during these uncertain times.”
Donations are encouraged by the Oshkosh community to help the affected organizations. For more information on how to donate, CLICK HERE.
