GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — The Aquatics Department at the YWCA is very special to the greater Green Bay community.

The aquatics director, Teri DeGrand, has worked there for almost 40 years. She started out as a lifeguard and swim instructor right out of college. She said working there is like working with family, adding it's a homey-environment and she loves her staff.

If you're thinking about swim lessons this spring or summer, DeGrand said they have the best in town. Their classes are small in size and they work with kids on an individual basis.

She adds, swimming is the perfect activity for all ages because it's low resistance and joint friendly. They also offer all kinds of exercise classes including water Tai Chi, water yoga, water aerobics, and adult swim. Swim lessons are offered starting with a parent/tot lesson all the way up to adults.
