GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge will be closed for four weeks in January, Green Bay Public Works Department announced Monday.

The department says the bridge is closed for work on the span locks. The bridge will be closed beginning January 4 at 7 a.m. and is expected to reopen January 31 at around 5 p.m.

Green Bay Public Works says Dousman Street will be closed west of the Fox River at Broadway. Main Street will be closed east of the Fox River at Washington Street.

Detours are available at Broadway, Walnut Street, and Monroe Avenue. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained.

All closures, detours, and work operations are weather-dependent and subject to change. Public Works says drivers should anticipate backups and are encouraged to find alternate routes.
