IOLA (NBC 26) — Organizers have finalized details for the Rally for Iola, a socially-distance cruise event meant to replace the 2020 Iola Car Show.
The Rally is scheduled for July 11 on the Iola Car Show grounds. The grounds normally welcomes over 100,000 people during the event, but this year the social distance cruise is designed for minimal interaction due to coronavirus concerns.
Event coordinators say cars can begin staging though Gate 1 at 8 A.M. Show cars will park in the Post-War Area while non-show cars will continue along the Rally Route. Attendees can buy chocolate shakes, bagged cheese curds, and Iola memorabilia in a drive-thru style shop.

Coordinators say at 10 A.M. the show cars will be released in groups to allow for spacing on the road cruise. They say non-show cars will follow in similar fashion.

After the cruise, organizers are inviting everyone back to the Iola Car Show campgrounds for a drive-thru meal. They say for $10 you will get a choice of sandwich, beverage, and bag of chips. They add that picnic tables will be spread out over the campground's 80 acres in order to maintain social distancing.
