Pulaski woman who runs at-home day care charged with several counts of child neglect

TOWN OF CHASE (NBC 26) - An at home-day care provider in Oconto County has been charged with several counts of felony child neglect.

Thirty-six-year-old Nicole Brewer of Pulaski is charged with causing emotional and bodily injury to several children under her care. Those charges include a 12-week-old with a broken arm; red marks left on a child's neck from a bib being too tight or yanked on; and locking kids in rooms when they misbehaved. The reported injuries happened between July 2018 and February 2020.

During the investigation, when Brewer was asked how some of the injuries happened, she stated she did not know or would change her story, this is according to the criminal complaint.

Court records also show Brewer told investigators she was a "contracted" day care provider allowed up to six kids. However, the day care, Ryan’s Rascals, was not registered with the state. She also admitted to watching more children than she could safely supervise. Some parents saying they've seen her with up to 20 kids at a time during summer months.

The case prosecutor said they anticipate adding another charge for an 8-month-old’s broken leg.
