PULASKI (NBC 26) — The tents are up and the dance floors are down as Pulaski Polka Days is back this year with so many activities available for the entire family.

The event will offer live polka music and plenty of food and vendors on site.

One of the organizers explained the history behind the event.

“It was a polish settlement. They brought the music, they brought the food back in the 70’s back, actually 43 years ago when this started because we had to take a break last year unfortunately. They started with calling it sausage days. So it started with a one day event and it grew from there,”said Stacy Pasche, Polka Days Inc. Secretary.

For one pageant winner, Miss Jr. Pulaski she said she’s proud to have an event that celebrates her culture.

“I have a lot of heritage to do with polish. My great-grandmother immigrated from Poland to America and eventually found love and created our family,” said Faith Nowakowski.
