APPLETON (NBC 26) -- The Appleton Police Department said it's investigating numerous complaints of crimes during Monday night’s protest. This includes sending their SWAT team to the local Republican party office after protesters surrounded the building, threatening people inside.
Police add people were trapped inside the Republican Party of Outagamie County Headquarters and their property was damaged. They were able to extract everyone from the building.
Other complaints include a city bus surrounded by protesters and not being allowed to leave. Police also accused some protesters of assaulting someone and taking his property.
