GREEN BAY (NBC26) — President Donald Trump received 52.68 percent of the vote in Brown County, while former Vice President Joe Biden received 45.5 percent, according to unofficial results from Brown County.

The City of Green Bay finished counting ballots just before 5 a.m. Wednesday morning at their central count location, and Brown County was able to finalize results an hour later.

The final results for Green Bay show more than 55 percent of voters did absentee ballots. Poll workers couldn't open the ballots until 7 a.m. Tuesday morning, and there were 31,891 in total. Eric Genrich, mayor of Green Bay, stayed up all night at central count.

"With this kind of equipment and this kind of process, you're going to have jams here and there and slowdowns in the counting," he said. "But nothing out of the ordinary, both with regard to our in-person election that took place here, things went very smoothly."

Trump's lead in Brown County over Biden is smaller than his 2016 lead over Hillary Clinton. That election year, Trump received 52.7 percent of the vote, while Clinton received 41.9 percent.
