OUTAGAMIE CO. (NBC 26) — Municipal clerks throughout Wisconsin continue to struggle with finding poll workers for the upcoming General Election, according to the Office of the Outagamie County Clerk.
In April and August, counties across Wisconsin were assisted by the National Guard to staff polling places. The Wisconsin Elections Commission has requested additional Guard help with November's general election, but there are no guarantees of their availability.
Outagamie Co. Clerk said it is soliciting volunteers to assist municipalities. Anyone at low risk for COVID-19 is being asked to consider working November 3.
According to the office, the areas in most dire need is the Village of Little Chute and City of New London in Outagamie Co.
Municipal clerks said they are taking all available precautions to ensure the safety of poll workers. Volunteers may work in any municipality in their county.
If you are interested in volunteering, you should contact your municipal clerks directly or contact the County Clerk who can help connect you with your municipal clerk.
