Police: Avoid the area of S. Ashland Ave and W. Mason St. due to fire

GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Green Bay Police are asking the public to avoid the area of S. Ashland Ave and W. Mason St. due to a structure fire.

At 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, Green Bay Police and Green Bay Metro Fire Dept. were dispatched to a structure fire in the 700 block of S. Ashland Ave.

Police said the fire incident is still very active and will be for an extended period of time. North and Southbound lanes of S. Ashland Ave between W. Mason St and 3rd St are completely shut down at this time. Initial reports are no injuries and all occupants were safely evacuated from the home.

Police are asking drivers to avoid S. Ashland Ave between W. Mason St and 3rd St. Alternate north and southbound routes are 12th Av and S. Oneida St. East and westbound traffic on W. Mason St is still open at this time as well as Hwy 172 and Lombardi Ave. No further information is going to be released at this time.
