GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Kickoff is still a few days away for the Packers return to the playoffs, but many people in Green Bay are already buzzing with anticipation.

Hundreds of fans attended a pep rally Friday afternoon.

The event included chants of Go Pack Go and some remarks from President and CEO Mark Murphy.

Fans said events like this also help build up the energy level for the game.

That means a return of an excitement that only the Packers can create.

“I haven’t been able to sleep," fan Karen Harrington said. "I’m a nervous wreck about it. You don’t have to get my energy up, I’m up. I have to have some place to get rid of it and This is the place to get rid of some of my energy.”

“The camaraderie is fantastic," fan Jeff Deshaine said. "You can’t ask for anything better. Everyone gets together and it’s like a big party.”

Fans said Friday that the playoff atmosphere is still a familiar feeling in Green Bay.

They hope the team can make another run at the Lombardi trophy.
