GREEN BAY (NBC26) - Saturday, an honored tradition took place at Titletown in a salute to our military services.
The 3rd Annual Packers Salute to Service Flag Football Tournament pitted each military branch against each other for a day of fun. Six teams took the field for round-robin pool play, followed by a single elimination tournament to determine the winner.
"For the most part, we have all active duty out here,” said Ryan Fencl, the Packers Football outreach specialist. “We might have one or two that are veterans, but these are all men and women that have been in these branches and are representing their branches here today."
The winning team will receive a $2,500 donation. Second place will get $1,000 dollars, and the remaining teams will each be given a $500 donation toward morale funds.
The donations come from a grant through the NFL Foundation.
