GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Not surprisingly, Stadium View is filled with Sunday Night Football fans, who are excited to see their Packers take on the San Francisco 49ers. And while it's not a home game, it's still a reason to gather, drink and watch a little football.
“It’s everything [Packers football] or else I’d be sitting at home doing laundry,” said Kelly Betancourt, a Pack fan from Milwaukee.
Fans said they're optimistic for tonight, even though they know it's a tough opponent and hometown of Aaron Rodgers.
“It’s the anticipation, especially with the late-night game, you know, you’re kinda thinking about it, watching all the other games, all the good plays," said Andrew Holmstrom.
But it wasn't just locals having all the fun today. Those who came in for the Ryder Cup couldn't pass up a chance to bask in the shadow of Lambeau Field. They came from all over: Kentucky, New York, Georgia, and more.
“We’re up here for the Ryder cup, from South Carolina," said Mike King, who's in town with his friend from South Carolina. "So I got to take him to the holy ground of Lambeau Field. Did our tour, did our shopping...”
Regardless of whether you're from the area or a first-time fan, everyone is a friend on game day, and everyone roots for the Packers.
