GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — It’s a different kind of a Sunday across Northeast Wisconsin, as the Packers are off on their bye week and Lambeau Field sits empty.
“Feel weird not being ready to watch a game right now but enjoying this part of it. At least I get to be here and see it and why not,” said Candice Ganser.
“It is a little different with the bye week. Looking around and there’s no Packer game on,” Ganser said.
So in a city where many fans live and breathe all things Packers what exactly are people doing on this quiet Sunday?
With the snow and not having a game to watch many fans said it made for the perfect morning to sleep in and have a slow start.

“Lazy Sunday”, said one fan.
“Well, we’re feeling relaxed because we don’t have to worry about the Packers winning or losing today,” said Kelly Paul.
For others they said not having a game to watch gave them more time to catch up on much needed chores and holiday shopping.
“Get extra stuff done around the house, get the Christmas tree up, all that stuff,” said Heidi Buss
“It makes plans a lot easier when you don’t have to figure out where you’re going to be for the game,” said another fan.
“Hanging out in Titletown this weekend. Taking these pictures. And enjoying just being with family and taking these pictures that will last a lifetime,” said a different fan.
And for the ones who still wanted a sports game to watch, they said they just had to flip the channel.
“Hopefully watch the Vikings loose. I’m actually rooting for the Bears this week,” said a fan.
“A lot of college football yesterday and the Badgers basketball team and Bucks are playing well. So we follow them on a Packers bye week,” said Nathan Kanoke.
This is the latest the Packers have ever had their bye week.
But even with the snow, fans said if they had played this week they would still be confident on how well they could perform.
“They would do awesome. Would be a definite win. Packers do great with snow on the ground,” said Dan Tippett.
In the meantime, the Packers will continue to rest and prepare for the final games of the regular season.
