OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, Wis. — Deputy Jon Shearer and his K-9 partner Ace retired from the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office Tuesday afternoon.
Deputy Shearer has been with the Sheriff's Office for 24 years and Ace is his third dog. He says it would be hard for either of them to bond with another person or dog at this point.
“We have a great relationship, as you can probably tell, he's my dog and it's been a fun ride with not just him, but all three of my dogs,” says Deputy Jon Shearer. “16 years of being a dog guy - I love my dogs it's been wonderful.”
Ace's specialty is sniffing out bombs. Ace even got his own special cake at the retirement party.
