APPLETON (WGBA) -- The Wisconsin Primary is just two months away. With recent issue in Iowa, local clerk's say there shouldn't be any issue with the way they report votes.
"We have some redundancies, and everything should be fine," said Lori O'bright, the Outagamie County Clerk.
The Iowa Democratic Party had a issue reporting results with the recent caucus. Although the way the two states vote is different, both are swing states, and O'Bright says getting it right is important.
"The ballots themselves have certain checkpoints that are standard, and we use an electronic counting system," O'Bright says.
That electronic system will count each vote, but a county surveyor physically examines each one and makes them official. If that system goes down, they have back up ways on counting votes. One of is counting each one by hand.
"We are hoping it doesn't get to that point," O'Bright says.
However, if it does, she says they wouldn't be a problem. There would only be a delay in reporting the results.
The Wisconsin primary is April 7th.
