OSHKOSH (NBC 26) -- Students at Oshkosh North High School and Merrill Middle School will not report to class on Tuesday.
That decision was announced by the district Monday afternoon, less than 24 hours from the start of the school year.
In a letter to families, the district said the decision was due to "staffing limitations and circumstances beyond our control."
Students will pick up Chrome Books in the next few days to assist in online learning, but students won't start classes until Thursday.
The letter said students will return to hybrid learning as soon as the district is able to make it happen.
