Oshkosh Police investigating human trafficking situation involving a local business

OSHKOSH (NBC 26) — The Oshkosh Police Department is investigating what they call a human trafficking situation involving a local business.

Police said in a news release Thursday that detectives have been investigating a business called Oriental Spa. According to police, video surveillance revealed that only men were entering and exiting that business.

When officers carried out a search warrant on the place, they found two females inside along with $1,325.

Police said the two females were victims of human trafficking. Oshkosh Police said staff from the Damascus Road Project assisted with providing services.

A search warrant was served at a nearby residence where the females were living. Police said there was very little property at that location but $1,720 was found inside.

Additionally, Oshkosh Police said Manitowoc Police assisted by serving a search warrant at the Manitowoc residence of the owners of Oriental Spa. Police said $40,000 was found inside the home.
