OSHKOSH, Wis. — If you've considered a career in law enforcement, now is your chance to join the Oshkosh Police Department. They're looking to fill five positions that opened up due to retirements and promotions.
Officer Kate Mann said you don't have to have a criminal justice degree. They will consider people with a variety of educational backgrounds to join their unique team.
"The Oshkosh Police Department really focuses on team policing and building those relationships with our community members, and what's kind of unique about our department is we're not a really large department, but we have a lot of specialty teams that you can get involved with," she explained.
The department has seven different specialty teams. They include SWAT, Mobile Field Force, K-9 unit, bike patrol, motorcycle unit, crisis negotiators, accident investigation team and the unmanned aircraft system team which is the Drone Team.
