Wisconsin (NBC 26) -- The deadline for registering to vote early in Wisconsin is this week.

Today county clerks are reminding voters that October 14th, is the last day to register to vote through the mail or online. Coming up on October 30th is the last day to register to vote at your clerk's office in person. Clerks say it's an alternative that many voters are opting for to avoid having to register in person at the polls on election day.

"We want to keep traffic flowing through the polls. If you can register ahead of time it is much appreciated," says Fond du Lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg.

And if you're one of the many who plan on absentee voting, October 20th is the first day you can do so in person at your clerk's office. The last day to vote absentee in-person is November 1st.
