GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — The Greater Green Bay Chamber has announced Bobbi Webster is this year's recipient of the ATHENA Leadership Award.

Webster, an Oneida citizen, has spent her career as a communications professional and is currently the PR director for the Oneida Nation.

Webster has mentored many young women and provides coaching and advice on careers and communication to those who ask. Wisconsin news publication Madison 365 named Webster as one of the most influential Native Americans in Wisconsin. She is also a member of the Green Bay Packers Board of Directors.

"I feel very humbled and very special," Webster said. "It’s an amazing award to be recognized for and the recipient of. I’ll be in good company because I know there’s some fabulous women in Green Bay who have also received this award."

Webster was the first Chairwoman of the Oneida Golf Enterprise and was instrumental in the effort to bring the LPGA to the Thornberry Creek at Oneida Golf Course. Webster has been employed by the Oneida Nation for more than 40 years, established Oneida Communications, and served as former editor of the Oneida Tribal newspaper, the Kalihwisaks.

"My parents were always there to help somebody to give them a hand and to help them up and really impact them in a meaningful way, and that sets the foundation of me helping and giving back to my community," she said.

Webster will be honored with the 2021 ATHENA Leadership Award at the 139th Chamber Annual Dinner on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center.
