VILLAGE OF KOHLER (NBC26) -- Saturday night around 8:15, the Kohler Police Department responded to a one vehicle crash on Highland Drive south of State Highway 23 in the Village of Kohler. A southbound pickup truck had traveled from the traffic lane, over the curb and onto a grass median where it hit a tree.
Despite life saving efforts, 36-year-old Zachariah M. Diedrich of Sheboygan was declared dead at the scene. He was the driver and only person in the vehicle, according to police.
Excessive speed and intoxicant consumption are among potential factors that are being investigated as the cause of the crash.
Assisting at the scene was the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, Orange Cross Ambulance, the Kohler Fire Department and the Sheboygan County Medical Examiners Office.
