SISTER BAY (NBC 26) — UPDATE: The people involved in the crash have now been identified.
According to the Door County Sheriff's Office, the 2019 Lincoln MKC was being driven by 75 year-old Bruce M. Lamb from Janesville. The 2019 Buick Encore was driven by 64 year-old Susan M. Dart from Maribel. The woman who died in the crash has been identified as 89 year-old Rita M. Bloedel of Sturgeon Bay. The Sheriff's Office said Bloedel was a front seat passenger in the Buick Encore.

One person died and five others were injured in a crash involving two vehicles Sunday afternoon.
The Sheriff's Office responded to a crash reported on South Bay Shore Drive in the village of Sister Bay at 1:07 p.m.
According to the Door County Sheriff's Office, a 2019 Lincoln MKC, driven by a 75 year-old Janesville man, had been traveling southbound on Bay Shore Drive. The Sheriff's Office said the Lincoln crossed the center line and struck a 2019 Buick Encore, being driven by a 64 year-old Maribel woman, head-on.
Each of the vehicles had three people and all were injured. One victim was taken by helicopter to an area hospital. The other five injured were taken by ambulance to the Door County Medical Center.
The Sheriff's Office said a passenger in the Buick, an 89-year-old Sturgeon Bay woman, later died from her injuries in the crash.
South Bay Shore Drive (Highway 42) was closed for several hours as the crash was investigated. It wasn't reopened until 7:20 p.m.
The Sheriff's Office said the crash remains under investigation.
