TOWN OF STEPHENSON (NBC 26) — One person is dead and another injured after their vehicle rolled over Saturday afternoon in the Town of Stephenson, according to the Marinette County sheriff.
Deputies responded to a call that a vehicle rolled over on Parkway Road near Eagle Road. Officials said an investigation showed the SUV went off the road into a ditch and rolled over.
One of the occupants was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials identified her as Sally Williams Griese, 62, from Greenleaf.
Police said the second occupant, Kim Thomson, 48, from De Pere, was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officials said speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash. The incident is still under investigation by the Sheriff's Office and Medical Examiner.
This is the first traffic death in Marinette County this year.
