MARINETTE CO. (NBC 26) — Deputies reported a fatal three vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and two pickup trucks Saturday afternoon.
The Marinette County Sheriff Office said the crash happened at County B and Hartwig Road in the Town of Grover.
Initial investigation by deputies revealed the motorcycle was westbound on County B. The motorcycle was slowing to turn onto Hartwig Road when it was hit from behind by a pickup truck driven by a 20-year-old Peshtigo man.
Deputies said the crash sent the motorcyclist into the path of an oncoming pickup truck headed eastbound driven by an 84-year-old Marinette man.
Law enforcement identified the motorcycle driver as Verlon Voelker, 73, from the Town of Grover who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation. No further information was released at this time.
