Oconto County District Attorney resigns, Gov. Evers seeks new applicants

OCONTO COUNTY (NBC 26) — Gov. Tony Evers announced Thursday that he is seeking applicants for Oconto County District Attorney after the current holder of the position resigned.

A statement from the governor's office said District Attorney Edward D. Burke Jr.’s resignation is effective Sept. 1. The new district attorney will serve for the remainder of the unexpired term that ends January 2025.

To apply, applicants are asked to email a completed application form and supporting materials to GovDAapp@wisconsin.gov. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 21, 2022.
